Valley Music Workshop’s team of highly trained and experienced teachers simply can’t be beat. All of our teachers hold college degrees in various musical disciplines including Performance, Commercial and Media Writing, Music Industry Studies, and more. Each of our teachers brings a unique musical background and skillset to the table as well as multiple years of experience teaching students of all ages and levels.
During our building stage, VMW is offering lessons in piano, guitar, voice, songwriting, and cello. As we expand, we plan to include all of the following disciplines in our lineup:

Many of our VMW teachers are well-equipped to instruct students in multiple instruments and disciplines. That means you can customize your private lesson experience to suit your specific needs and goals!

Meet Our Teachers

Hannah Lewis
Piano, Voice, Songwriting
Hannah is a professional singer with credits on Netflix films, Emmy-nominated documentaries Disney Parks music, and multiple studio albums. Plus, with more than 8 years of private and group musical instruction under her belt, Hannah’s passion for music education is undoubtable.
Hannah tailors her teaching style to the needs and personality of each student while always prioritizing technical ability, emotional expression, and enjoyment along the way. She holds a Bachelor’s in Music in Commercial and Media Writing from CSUN.

Brandon Soriano
Guitar
Brandon’s dedication to music of all kinds goes far beyond his work at Norman’s Rare Guitars and Yamaha Guitar Group. As a regular in the LA music scene playing with multiple bands, Brandon has his finger on the pulse of music today and aims to inspire the next generation of performers.
His music education training at CU Boulder as well as his many years of experience leading guitar classes at Calabasas High School have informed his diverse and effective teaching style.

Paula Hochhalter
Cello
With 45 years of experience as a cellist in the recording and live music world, Paula is a rare find with invaluable experience to share with her students. After receiving a degree in cello performance from USC, she quickly became a mainstay in the Los Angeles studio and concert scene
From Michael Jackson’s Off the Wall to numerous Hollywood Bowl concerts and world tours with major acts, Paula has been an integral part of countless iconic film scores, studio albums, and live music moments. Her playing and teaching abilities span a wide variety of genres.

Matthew Lewis
Voice
Matthew’s vocal talents and interests span over many genres, from performing masterwork repertoire with the Los Angeles Master Chorale to circle singing with Bobby McFerrin himself.
His training includes a Bachelor of Music in Voice from CSUN as well as many years of private instruction with some of LA’s top session singers. While Matthew specializes in classical and jazz styles as well as vocal improvisation, he enjoys fostering vocal skill for his students in many different genres.

Cayden Wemple
Guitar, Songwriting
With more than 30,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and hundreds of thousands of streams, Cayden’s success with his original music is undeniable—and only beginning.
Cayden studied songwriting and music business at the University of Colorado, Denver before relocating to LA. In addition to writing new music and playing shows, Cayden is passionate about sharing his skills with young musicians.

Patrick Dos Santos
Patrick Dos Santos is a classical guitarist with 15 years experience in music. He studied at Cal State Northridge under John Dearman, founding member of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, and received a BM in Guitar Performance. In his time at CSUN he was selected for the honors guitar quartet, and spent a summer abroad in Spain studying with the famed Romero guitar family, as well as Grammy Award winning Mabel Milan.
Patrick’s pedagogy proudly emphasizes a strong focus on creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
